Well its not far away hypothetically realistically for many it's a ocean far away, for others corporation employees, it's a next door, but on the other operating system, and for most of us, it's a several thousand dollars, or thousands++ euros away. :D
I'm currently graduated in CS Degree
The "Qualified talent scarcity" was a lie. It never happened. All they wanted is to oversaturate the labor market. What's the Supply-Demand rule of economics? See, just what's happening now, oversupply pushes prices down and weakens bargain Power
Bro I'm going for CS degree.... Please pray for me 😢.... I can't afford to join a engineering college
hello what about freshers in sd
i am a fresher
Great list 👏
I bought a quest 2 primarily to play games on it. After having some neck pain issues from looking down at my screen I decided to use my Quest 2 as a monitor and its been amazing. If i could afford a vision pro id definitely get it specifically for productivity as i can have my "monitor" anywhere at any time.
I am peak impostor syndrome right now. I've worked in higher level C++ for 4 years after graduating and now accepted a position in low level code (fpga network card drivers) and I'm just reading and reading trying to get a clue... feels good because I am learning but bad because I am slow..
I really appreciate your calm demeanor and your humbleness. And the insights you give feel really genuine. It will be great to see more content from you focused on senior engineers. Regarding the title thing, I am feeling low that I got downlevelled at Microsoft. Had applied for Principal but was offered senior (L64). Since you are in Microsoft also, I would love to hear your thoughts on transitioning from Senior to Principal. I believe I can do justice to the principal role and would like to get promoted as soon as possible. Ofcourse, I am ready to do what it takes but will appreciate your thoughts on this.
Thanks Utsav, I have a video request. Can you give us your thoughts on the endgame or long term goals for software engineers? As I approach senior, I realize my technical abilities are there and being developed in a way that serves the business, this has caused me to drift away from just random technology exploration and more of a mindset of whether I can use a tech to solve business challenges, I'm not sure where this is heading though.
I pushed myself and got let go 😂
I can relate lol
Hi Utsav, Most of my career (40 yrs) I have been a Software Engineer/Architect contractor, so I never encountered bias for action. Also never had a mentor Usually you have to hit the ground running. Biggest challenge what/how to avoid burnout! Nice video.
bias for action --- thankyou dai for that. i get pretty stagnant when i do not have any clue. but, i'll try to just go on from now on.
I'm saqib ali came from pakistan to berlin for my higher studies I have worked on some projects and upload on vercel and also share the project on linkedin but didn't get any positive responce regarding internship or student jobs please help me in this sitution what should I do
Few promotions in the first few years??? Junior to Principal in a few years.
Junior -> Standard -> Senior in a few years is fairly common
How I can get a mentor? I’m a recent graduate looking for my first job. Is it posible to be your apprentice? I admire you, and your discipline. Cheers
sahi hai bhai utsav apna
Your outro music matched with Markos music! 😅
Thank you Utsav ❤
I have graduated last month but i face difficulties to find the job. What things should i do to get the job.
Software development trainings, language courses, pursuing a master after your bachelor - all of this should be paid by the government if you're in a civilized country (not the US). In the meantime of course you keep applying 😊
Keep applying.
You have to accept any job. The first one you can't find anything good. The salary will be low but after few months you can start looking for another job.
@@DesertRose124 This assumes the job you find provides you enough time and energy left to resume build and continue looking. It also assumes you'll find something better.
Your smile is contagious, I was smiling through all the video 🐼
Thank you Utsav!
Micro manage is worst way to squeeze resources bones from the skull 🤣
Where do I buy t-shirt you’re wearing? It’s really cool
whats the wrist block, is this metal??? love it
I recently moved from New York to Miami and I’m looking for a career change. I am currently an aircraft mechanic for a major airline and would like to break in to tech. Is there any place you recommend I get my degree? Where I can get programming logic, data structures & algorithms like mentioned? Since my goal is to become a software engineer I do want to avoid the unnecessary. Online would also be helpful. Thank you in advance.
So helpful, I'll take this into consideration as I'm considering pivoting from Bcom Accounting to Bcom Computer Science ♥️
Great video. Just wondering why you say generalist role is great for a beginner to start with? Wouldn’t a beginner have less experience and knowledge base to be able to be good at everything? And might be better for them to focus on one thing since they are still limited in their experience?
This book is just a pre-introduction to the subject. Not even an introduction. I'm not saying it is bad. I'm just saying it is way too basic.
No degrees at all
time to get yourself a split keyboard sir
Yes please do a video on desk setup
Hard disagree. Maybe if you want to build your own business or become a millionaire and you understand what you are sacrificing for it. Vast majority of people don't want to build something outside of their jobs, they want to enjoy their lives and have fun. The idea that you MUST have side hustles is ridiculous BS.
Agree. Your time is expensive. Use it wisely.
OK that background is, like, live-adapting its position to your head or something and it's making me dizzy.
OK how. I only *just* noticed your name is "Utsav" after thinking you mispelled it, and then heard you say it aloud. I have been telling all my friends I watch "Ustav" for months, now. I'm shocked and a little embarrassed.
😂 I get that all the time. It’s probably because Gustav is a common name.
Saw this twice just not to miss out on anything. Everything makes sense until you realise you’re working in an OEM with variable work time. How to fix this …? as I’m working without focusing on what my potential is.
Thanks Utsav! Love the Daytona! Surprised nobody made a comment about it 😂
Thought it would fit the “why you need side hustles” video well. ;)
But i think by cse we can become a software engineer 😅
Thanks so much for the awesome book recommendation Utsav! I noticed that the author for "Grokking Algorithms" book has a new edition, would you recommend getting this edition or the one you recommended in the video?
I haven’t read the new one yet… so hard to say. But generally, newer editions are better :)
Please make a video also on how to get ideas for these projects/side hustles.
Talk to chatgpt/perplexity..Give it your interests and some constraints like what you know and what you want to learn..I have leveraged it greatly!
Nice.
Hey Utsav, I started watching your videos from almost you started this channel. At that time, I was in my under-grad. Today I am working in a product-based MNC company. Well, the journey was made through several tiers. Coming from a tier-3 college then working in a service-based start-up company, I had to gone through a lot of ups and downs. But one of the things that had always kept me uplifted with motivation, is your mentorship! I'll never be thankful enough to express my deepest gratitude to you to have an impact on making myself a Software Engineer. I have inherited a lot of perspectives from you that foster success in my day-to-day job. Thank you for being a mentor!
Thank you for your very kind words! 🙏🏽
if only side hustles weren't illegal 🤷♂
They aren’t. Unless you are moonlighting.
They’re for folks on visa
@@prashantshubham Even if they are, earning money is just one benefit. You can still get a bunch of other benefits from working on side projects.
@@prashantshubhamIn the US, I would be willing to bet money that you could find a legal mechanism that allows you to build a money-generating side project. Hire a good tax lawyer or accountant. They will help you
@EngineeringwithUtsav yes totally agree that they’ve lots of benefits. My comment was not to undermine their pros it’s just for immigrants it becomes tough. One of the biggest pros of sideprojects is it keeps you evolving and also helps you keep up if your office work is not on latest tech.
Love your content dai, you have been one of the down to earth tech youtuber I like to listen.
